GAP014 – Marco Possum

For this episode of our podcast series, we proudly introduce personal friend, fellow animal lover and boss man of Opossum Recordings: Marc Opossum!

This is a journey into sound: In the 80´s, Marco’s musical tastes favored pop, soon to be replaced by crunchy heavy metal in the early 90´s. This gave way to an interest in hip-hop. Once DJ culture and the dance floor were in sight, hearing a few sets from Laurent Garnier pulled him headfirst into electronic music.

After hanging out with friends who were making their own music and watching their ascension into the international scene, he decided the time was right to create a new platform for talented people to showcase their work. He launched Opossum recordings at the end of 2004, and the label has been rocking crowds worldwide ever since with uncompromising techno, house, and genre-smashing iterations of both.

Marco’s DJ sets find him leading the ceremonies from behind the decks, taking risks with courageous track selections and sure-fire bombs, all delivered with a smiling face and an engaging character that makes a lasting impression with his audience.
